Today, the editors of the news media had an ‘interaction’ with the prime minister, Lyonchen Jigmi Y. Thinley. I call it an interaction because it was limited only to that.
Most of us thought it would be a session where he would berate the media for the coverage of the Supreme Court Verdict saga. But it was not.
Personally, I saw a very wise man that had become wiser following the Supreme Court verdict.
He was very frank with the editors. In utter forthrightness, he was braced to brave any kind of discussion and welcomed it.
He spoke openly. And when necessary he shared his personal perceptions on several crucial issues.
He told the editors that it was necessary to meet often with the editors and suggested that it should be done about once in every two months.
The initiative was well taken and is welcomed.
